Cillian Murphy, the acclaimed actor known for his role in 'Peaky Blinders,' is addressing recent speculation about the future of the '28 Years Later' franchise and his involvement in the 'Harry Potter' television series on HBO.
In '28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,' Murphy reprises his role as Jim, and a sequel is already in development. When asked about a potential follow-up film, Murphy expressed enthusiasm, stating, 'Hope so! I’m ready anyway.'
However, Murphy has firmly denied rumors linking him to the role of Voldemort in the 'Harry Potter' television adaptation. He humorously noted his discomfort with the idea of becoming a 'personality' and his preference for a more average existence, saying, 'Being a personality is not what I am good at. But then existing in this world? Talking about yourself, going on f***ing red carpets? It’s not healthy if you start to believe this shit, and I’m really bad at it too. I’m an incredibly average person, really.'
The 'Harry Potter' television series has already cast its leading roles, with Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stour as Ron. Other notable additions to the cast include Paapa Essiedu as potions master Snape, John Lithgow as headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
